How does order routing work across locations?

CommerceShip evaluates each order against your fulfillment locations based on inventory availability, proximity to the customer, shipping cost, and delivery speed. You can configure routing rules to prioritize any combination of these factors, and the system selects the best location automatically.

Can I enable BOPIS for specific stores?

Yes. BOPIS can be enabled or disabled per location. Each store manages its own inventory availability, and the pickup methods a store offers, lockers included, apply to its orders. Notifications go out when an order is ready for pickup.

How does ship from store carrier selection work?

Each store location can have its own set of connected carriers and service levels. When an order is routed to a store for fulfillment, CommerceShip compares available carriers for that location and selects the best option based on your rules for cost, speed, or carrier preference.

What metrics does the Operations Agent track?

The Operations Agent monitors on-time fulfillment rates, carrier performance by location, order cycle times, and delivery exceptions. When a location starts to slip, it opens an exception and reallocates orders to another location, at the autonomy level you set for it. Every decision is logged with its reasoning, so you can review what the agent did and why.

Multi-location routing

Route the order to the DC or the store on stock by location, distance to the customer, cost to ship, and promise date, with rules per channel and order type.

Buy online, pick up in store

Check stock at the store the customer picks, stage the order from a queue on the associate's phone, and notify the customer when the order is ready, about to expire, or cancelled.

Ship from store

Pick, pack, and ship from the store with a guided workflow, rate shopped on the store's own carrier accounts or the primary account, with labels and the manifest printed at the store.

Returns from any channel

Take the return from the website or the store on the original order, route the item to the store, the DC, or the vendor, and track the RMA to refund and restock.

How a store fills an online order

Route the order to the store or the DC, fill the order at the store, and monitor fulfillment across the stores.

Manual, nearest, best-inventory, lowest-cost, and balanced, plus overflow, so a clearance push and a two-day promise need not use the same rule.

Route the order to the store or the DC

The order gets a promise date from live stock across locations, and the routing rule picks the store or the DC on stock, distance, cost, and that date. Rules can differ by channel and order type.

Fill the order at the store

For a pickup, the associate stages the order from the store queue, and the customer gets a notification when the order is ready. For a ship-from-store order, the associate picks, packs, and prints the label. An item not at that store routes from another store or the DC.

Monitor fulfillment across the stores

The operations agent tracks fill rate, pickup times, and SLA attainment per store, opens an exception when a store falls behind, and moves orders to another location before the customer notices.
