How the QuickBooks integration works

  1. Connect QuickBooks

Authorize QuickBooks from your CommerceShip account using its own app credentials. Access is scoped to the accounts and transactions freight cost posts to, and either side can revoke it.

  2. Map charges to accounts

Map base rate, surcharge, and accessorial to the QuickBooks accounts you already use, choose the currency treatment for cross-border charges, and decide whether cost posts per order or per invoice line.

  3. Test in a sandbox

Post a month of past carrier invoices to a QuickBooks sandbox and check the accounts and totals before live posting.

  4. Reconcile, then post

Each carrier invoice is checked line by line against the shipment record and returns a decision on every charge. Approved cost posts to QuickBooks against the original sale, with credits matched to the charge they reverse.
