Square Integration Capabilities
Point-of-sale and online selling platform for in-person and online sellers.
How the Square integration works
Connect Square
Authorize Square from your CommerceShip account using its own app permissions. Access covers orders and fulfillment and can be revoked from either side.
Map orders and locations
Choose which Square orders import, map them to your fulfillment locations, and set the rules that pick carrier and service per shipment.
Test against past orders
Run the routing and carrier rules against last month's Square orders and compare the result to what shipped, before anything goes live.
Fulfill and write back
Orders import as they are placed, each one is rate shopped, labels print, and tracking posts back to Square. Delays and exceptions are flagged to your team.
How does the Square integration work?
Orders from Square are automatically imported into CommerceShip when they are placed. You can configure routing rules to assign orders to specific warehouses or carriers, generate shipping labels, and push tracking numbers back to Square for customer visibility.
Can I fulfill Square orders from multiple locations?
Yes. Route orders to different fulfillment locations (warehouses, 3PLs, retail stores) based on inventory availability, proximity to customer, or custom rules. Set up automation rules to assign orders automatically or route manually based on your workflow.
How do I track costs from Square orders?
View spend by carrier, service level, destination, and SKU. Compare quoted rates vs. invoiced costs, identify billing adjustments, and run scenario analysis to model cost changes. Track budget vs. actual across all Square fulfillment activity.
Can I automate fulfillment for Square orders?
Yes. Build automation rules with conditions (order value, weight, destination, SKU) and actions (assign carrier, route to location, set dimensions, generate labels). Test rules against historical orders before activating on live Square orders.
What access does CommerceShip need to Square?
The connection uses scoped credentials limited to the record types the integration works with, and you choose which fields are included. Credentials are encrypted at rest and stored separately from your operational data. Revoke the connection from either side at any time and the access ends with it.
How is my data protected?
TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest, with tenant isolation enforced by row-level security in the database. Role-based permissions control who on your team can see cost data or change carrier settings, and automated actions are written to an audit log. CommerceShip is pursuing SOC 2 Type II certification. The security page carries the full detail.
Ship Square orders from one platform
Orders come in as customers place them. Each one is rate shopped and shipped, and the tracking number goes back to Square.
