Where does CommerceShip fit in the Deposco pick, pack, and ship flow?

CommerceShip picks up at pack complete. Deposco handles receiving, putaway, picking, and packing. When an order is packed, its contents, weight, and dimensions pass to CommerceShip, which rate shops, generates the label, and pushes the tracking number back to the Deposco order.

Do my packers have to change how they work?

No. The handoff happens between systems, so the workflow on the floor stays the same. CommerceShip supports direct label printing, scales for weight capture, and barcode scanners, so a packing station keeps the same hardware and the same sequence of steps.

Question 3

Which carriers can I rate shop for Deposco orders?

Accepted Answer

100+ carriers, covering national parcel, regional and last-mile, consolidators, and international. Bring your own carrier accounts and negotiated rates, and CommerceShip rates against your contracted pricing.

Question 4

What happens when a Deposco order has no valid rate?

Accepted Answer

The order opens as an exception. Common causes are an address that will not validate, a weight or dimension no carrier service accepts, or a destination no connected carrier serves. Set fallback rules so a second carrier or service picks these up automatically, and review what is left in the exception queue.

Question 5

We already manage orders in Deposco. Will CommerceShip duplicate them?

Accepted Answer

No. Deposco stays the system of record for the order. CommerceShip reads the packed order, rate shops, generates the label, and writes the cost and tracking number back to that same record. Nothing creates a parallel order that then has to be kept in sync.

Question 6

Do we need a separate OMS as well?

Accepted Answer

Not for this. Deposco covers order management and the warehouse, so the gap CommerceShip fills is the carrier side: rating against your contracted pricing, generating the label, and putting the actual shipping cost back against the order. If you later add a dedicated OMS upstream, orders can flow from there instead without changing the warehouse side.

What access does CommerceShip need to Deposco?

Accepted Answer

The connection uses scoped credentials limited to the record types the integration works with, and you choose which fields are included. Credentials are encrypted at rest and stored separately from your operational data. Revoke the connection from either side at any time and the access ends with it.

Question 8

How is my data protected?

Accepted Answer

TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest, with tenant isolation enforced by row-level security in the database. Role-based permissions control who on your team can see cost data or change carrier settings, and automated actions are written to an audit log. CommerceShip is pursuing SOC 2 Type II certification.
